Optimal Transportation and Applications

Convergence rate of general entropic optimal transport costs

speaker: Guillaume Carlier (Ceremade, Université Paris Dauphine)

abstract: This talk will be devoted to quantitative convergence of the value of entropic optimal transport costs towards the optimal transport cost as the entropic penalization vanishes. An upper bound will be obtained by a suitable approximation and some variant of Alexandov’s theorem. A lower bound will be obtained by Minty’s trick under a quite general nondegeneracy condition on the cost and show sharpness of the previous upper bound. This is a joint work with Paul Pegon and Luca Tamanini.
