Optimal transport and mean-field planning problems with entropic cost

abstract: We discuss optimal transport problems with additional entropic cost, showing the existence of smooth minimizers of the dynamical problem, in case of smooth positive marginals.We mainly focus on the elliptic regularization induced by the additional entropy term, as well as on displacement convexity estimates in the Eulerian approach. The motivation, and some important hints, come from mean-field game theory and the study of optimization problems with penalizing congestion terms, which appear in mean-field planning problems.
