communication: Minimality of hyperplane arrangements
speaker: Giovanni Paolini (Scuola Normale Superiore)abstract: The complement of a finite complexified hyperplane arrangement is known to have the homotopy type of a minimal CW complex. In this talk I will outline a new proof of this result, which uses discrete Morse theory, and works also for infinite arrangements (this is a joint work with Davide Lofano).
