Quantum simulations and quantum walks

Environment-assisted quantum walks in disordered graphs

speaker: Yasser Omar (Physics of Information Group, IT & ISEG, University of Lisbon)

abstract: We study quantum walks in different network structures. We model the quantum transport by a tight-binding hamiltonian with site-energies disorder, and the interaction with the environment by pure dephasing noise. Furthermore, we introduce losses and a trapping site in the structure and calculate numerically the transport efficiency to this site. We find that optimal efficiency is achieved when the time-scale associated with dephasing matches that of the site-to-site hopping.
